Nabsys Expands Leadership Team to Prepare for Commercialization of Novel DNA Positional Sequencing Technology

Yandex Completes the Largest Internet IPO in 2011

Yandex, the leading Internet search company in Russia, priced its IPO in May of 2011 raising $1.3 billion. The company now trades on NASDAQ under the symbol YNDX. The IPO was the largest Internet IPO completed in 2011 and was the largest Internet IPO since Google. In 2011 the IPOs of Nexon, Renren, Zynga, Groupon, and LinkedIn came in at 2nd-6th, respectively. The Yandex IPO was the 4th largest IPO overall during the year with HCA, Kinder Morgan and Nielsen taking the top three overall slots.

DNA sequencing firm NABsys Inc. has completed a $10 million round of venture capital financing, led by Stata Venture Partners.
The funding consisted of Series C Preferred Stock that the Providence, R.I.-based company said in a release would be used for further development and commercialization of its technology.

On July 1, 2011, Olympus Corporation acquired all shares of the U.S. venture company Spirus Medical, Inc., an endoscope insertion device manufacturer. The acquisition was implemented through Gyrus ACMI, Inc., a consolidated subsidiary of Olympus based in the U.S., with the aim of acquiring Spirus' endoscope insertion assistance technology.

Jeremy Miller’s research into flexible spending accounts drove him to make FSAs the centerpiece of his M.B.A. studies at Columbia University’s business school five years ago. FSAs allow workers to put aside pretax money from their wages each year to pay for health care products and services not covered by insurance policies.
Last year, Mr. Miller decided to capitalize on what he learned, launching FSAStore.com, an e-commerce site in Manhattan devoted solely to FSA-eligible items and services. The online hub features thousands of FSA-eligible products that it ships to customers within two to three days. It also lists a roster of 300,000 health care professionals, from acupuncturists to dentists, indicating which of their services are and aren’t FSA-eligible.

Yandex, one of the leading Internet companies in Russia, this morning announced the pricing of its initial public offering of a little under 52.2 million Class A ordinary shares at $25.00 per share.
The shares will begin trading later today on NASDAQ under the symbol “YNDX”.
The offering would give Yandex a market cap of roughly $8 billion.

Yandex, one of the leading Internet companies in Russia, this morning announced that it has filed a registration statement with the SEC for a proposed initial public offering, as expected. The number of shares to be offered and the price range for the offering have not yet been determined, but the Wall Street Journal recently reported that the company had been given a preliminary valuation of between $6 billion and $9 billion ahead of the filing.

She is credited with helping to remove major barriers for public solar projects in Massachusetts. Since December 2009, she has served as senior project manager at Nexamp. She is overseeing the largest public solar contract in New England’s history — 41 megawatts of solar capacity installed at a dozen water and wastewater treatment plants in Massachusetts. The last of the projects will finish in August.
