Optasite

In 2003, Jim Eisenstein, Jim Ross and Point Judith conceived of a next generation tower company during wireless “recession.”

In 2004, the Optasite Tower effort began and Point Judith closed a Series A-1 investment in the company.

By late 2008, Optasite had grown to be the 2nd largest private U.S. tower company with over 500 Tower sites.

Optasite was acquired by SBA Communications (NASDAQ: SBAC) in September of 2008 for $430million. The acquisition represented the 2nd largest venture backed exit in New England in 2008 and the 2nd largest venture backed wireless exit in 2008 in the United States.
